Marcy Bursac feels called to daringly channel resources for the benefit of the under-served. She understands that nonprofit organizations cannot thrive on financial resources alone and require a vast sea of resources to function with efficiency and purpose. As our Senior Director of Resource Development, Marcy implements innovative ways to engage volunteers. She seeks out eclectic opportunities for in-kind donations and shares Connections’ story, which inspires new friends to become brand ambassadors. She has a passion to serve, deep belief in Connections’ mission and a dedication to building healthy, long-lasting relationships with program participants, other nonprofit agencies, corporations and local community members, like you! And, through these efforts, she is able to raise the funding needed to sustain and grow our programs, too!
Marcy has 11 years of experience in supporting resource development for children and women’s causes in Missouri, Kansas and Tennessee. She holds a Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Philanthropy and Development. She was recognized in 2014 as Fundraising Star of the Year and she is a proud Alumna of Coro™ Women In Leadership. In 2010 Marcy earned the CFRE credential (Certified Fundraising Executive) which demonstrates her commitment, understanding and application of stewardship to donors and the community at-large.
When Marcy isn’t developing resources, she play European board games, reads personal finance – for fun! – cuddles with her two canine and two human children, recruits foster and adoptive homes for children, enjoys oreo cookies (original, not double stuffed), and then runs off the calories…(not always in that order!)
