Facing a 90-day incarceration, Mordekay found unexpected peace working on a horse ranch. Caring for horses became a grounding escape from the stress of his circumstances. Each day brought new challenges, but the connection he formed with the animals helped calm his spirit and sparked a desire to rebuild his life with intention for himself and his young son.
After his release, Mordekay’s probation officer referred him to Connections to Success. He enrolled in our Pathways to Success program and began the intensive personal and professional development training, where he learned essential skills like goal setting, interviewing, and how to market himself to potential employers. The class gave him newfound confidence, clarity, and a sense of direction, marking a major turning point in his journey.
Motivated to create a more stable future for his young family, Mordekay pursued an education in plumbing technology at Ranken Technical College. He graduated with his certification and practical, hands-on experience, enabling him to immediately step into a career that has brought him pride and security. Today, Mordekay remains deeply committed to his Connections to Success family and is leading by example for his son.
