Connections to Success Alumni

Anne - Connections to Success AlumniI was at a very low point in my life when I got involved with Dress for Success Midwest. I was homeless, jobless, had low self-esteem, and my life was like a whirlwind because I didn’t have any direction, and I actually contemplated committing suicide a few times. It wasn’t until I was introduced to the Professional Women Group (PWG) that I determined that life may be worth living for after all. I began attending the monthly meetings and met women from all walks of life that I could relate to. After attending several workshops and meetings on personal and professional growth, I was suited with professional attire and coached on interviewing skills for a job interview. Needless to say, I landed the job.

Today, I am a role model for my four children. Today, I am confident in myself. Today, I apply the leadership tools that I learned from the PWG meetings and apply them in my everyday life. As I look back over my life and reminisce on where I have been to where I am at today, it’s simply remarkable to see how much I have grown. I am so proud to be part of an organization that empowers women and strives to see them succeed in life. Honestly, I don’t know what my life would be like if Dress for Success Midwest was not introduced to me. I consider myself to be fortunate. I am watching “me” soar like an eagle!
